Re: Free public redirect project

So here's the deal. Last night I notice I'm having trouble uploading files to the redirect. Things have been going great for days, and now all the sudden I keep dropping my SFTP connection. I was a little tired last night so I wrote a message to scarface asking for a bit of help and I went to bed. I...

Re: Merging Brushes?

You are much better off creating bleachers. It's easier, faster, and lower-performance players won't take the face-hit of 10 million polygons to render.

Re: Nyan Cat Deemer

If you need any code from this mod please let me know. It would make a nice wrapper for the cat launcher, especially if you wanted multiple types of cats to be launched:

Directlink

Troll guy is probably the class you'd use. All you need is to animate the cat and add the proper trail.

Re: Need major help

If I were you I'd scrap the map and start over with proper habits. Once errors creep into the map you may squash them for a time but they will be back. Your map is obviously important to you so do your best work. Get rid of transformed brushes, those will forever haunt your map. Stay on grid, no exc...

Re: Need major help

I haven't looked at the map but these sort of problems are usually attributed to poor habits when mapping. Not staying on grid, not checking alignments, etc. are all culprits. Mapping is always going to be a "do it right or do it over" sort of thing.

Re: UT-FILES down. Population panics. Suicide rate increases

I still want to contribute to the community. Truthfully I don't have energy to spend days and days developing mods, compiling code, testing. It's all just exhausting and so many people frankly do it better than me. I hardly play now, maybe twice a week I'll explore a map I haven't played on my coop ...

Re: Free public redirect project

Alright guys the redirect has now gone *LIVE* and files are being added as we speak. By tomorrow it will be in a usable state with enough files to make it worthwhile. I have approx. 25GB of stuff on upload. Anyone may use this redirect and I urge it especially for those with limited resources. the r...

Re: UT-FILES down. Population panics. Suicide rate increases

The 72 hours is dictated by the company (Burst.net) not me. I know we live in a "I want it now and I don't want to wait" society but stop to think about this for a minute. I'm getting extra scrutiny by the host, I've had to send documents back-and-forth several times now and they are takin...

Re: UWindow: TextBox inadequate

I certainly mean no disrespect to any of the coders here, it's just that generally speaking UT99 covers UT coding while they cover Unreal. Also generally speaking the answers dealt with here tend to be utilitarian in nature while the projects there are more artistic and creative because most project...

Re: UT-FILES down. Population panics. Suicide rate increases

I still need to email you the specifics, I know. I meant to get to that today but worked turned into a full-day thing. I promise you I'll do it in the morning when I get up. Publicly I'll state that the server is a 100MB line dedicated located in Scranton, Pennsylvania (east coast US). It's already ...

The real whiz kids of Unreal coding reside at Old Unreal. you ought to ask there.

Re: PHP UPackage

This is worth a fluff post. It's a big improvement in potential handling of files by webservers.

Re: UWindow: TextBox inadequate

Hmm...not sure about this then. I wonder why it clamps so aggressively, but I suppose they didn't think about future development just yet. Have you looked at Nexgen and it's various classes that create these sort of windows? I'd guess your results may vary wildly from what you might expect but you c...

Re: UWindow: TextBox inadequate

It's not a terrible problem to expand an existing UWindow box. Post the relevant code and let's take a look at it. I learned a lot redoing Mapvote and this sounds like much of the same thing.
