MapVote not loading

Hi, i'm just setting up a linux server for the first time, and i wanted the MapVote mod. someone suggested MapVote304 so i installed that version. i made the changes to my UnrealTournament.ini file, and put the BDBMapVote304.int and BDBMapVote304.u into the System directory.

when i logged into the server as a client for the first time, i can see it downloaded the MapVote mod, but i never see any key bind window or map vote window show up, i just go right into the level and start playing with some bots. when that map is finished, still the map vote window doesn't come up and it just goes on to load the next map.

i also tried installing MapVoteLA13 instead, but seem to have the same issue. my client will download the mod but i never see any mapvote window come up...

what did i miss? thanks

Are you adding the mutator to the server? Seems you added it to the ini packages, but not to the server startup.

i added ServerPackages=BDBMapVote304 to System/UnrealTournament.ini under the [Engine.GameEngine] heading and initially just started my server as usual, with a simple command like: ./ucc server DM-Gothic -nohomedir but i did also try starting it with a command like: ./ucc server DM-Gothic?mutator=BDBMapVote304.BDBMapVote -nohomedir


edit: seems to be working now that another player has joined. i didn't realize there had to be at least 2 human players before the mod would load, does that seems correct? although i still didn't see the keybind window. i think i'll try the LA13 version since this one seems a little too basic

Yes, MapVoteLA13 seems to work good for everybody.
And it should start up right away no matter how many are in the server. (even just 1)
