hold on fella - you said nothing about these DM plans when you asked for my permission - This is what you told me:

"Wanna put actual Borg skins on the Male soldiers in their wall caches, as well as active player bots with Borg skins"

You were referring to the existing DOM map. To boot - you did not acknowledge the conditions I stipulated regarding re-release of my work. Not even out of courtesy.

No, you don't have carte-blanche to do whatever you want, especially since you are NOT a mapper, which I mistakenly thought you were.

If you want a DM version of FNB-Assimilated then you ask _me_ for one. Or better yet, learn how to make maps and create your own StarTrek map.

Yes I am annoyed by this - consider your permission pulled.

EvilGrins ... just saying: If you are that cheeky that you are even able to piss of people like FragnBrag, you will make yourself a lot of enmies.
Moreover your recent attempt to defraud is somehow VERY kaal-ish. We already had this kind of BS in the past!

Get your facts straight before you accuse. There was no attempt to defraud anything. As to FragnBrag, read the rest of this.

1) Whoa, where'd this come from?
2) I do believe I did tell you this, from the very first, because that was what I wanted to do from the beginning.
3) I never claimed to be a mapper. I only edit maps.
4) Fine, I won't do it.

It's not like this was a big secret. I only edit maps into deathmatch and I publicly posted what I intended. The PM we shared was vague as I only stipulated the skinning. Likely I should've been more thorough and detailed in my request.

Why did you wait so long to revisit this? I posted plans for the project back on July 5th:

Here specifically:
viewtopic.php?p=40563#p40563

Sorry if you felt slighted. That was not my intent.

As to the conditions I stipulated regarding re-release of my work part, I would completely have done so once I completed the map. I hadn't even started the edit yet.

Okay - EvilGrins, I will PM you in about 8 hours because I am going to bed - I have been slaving away on three very large and complex maps today and have little tolerance right now for this ... I want to appologize in advance to paperCoffee et al, and you EG, for my posting into a public what should have been communicated via PM. That was knee-Jerk, even for me... we'll talk tomorrow (erm, later today) ...

lol, this might my next map release :barf:

actually, with 15-19 masterful bots this can get really challenging... especially as the robots get DS and powerups and due to the slight LowGrav they can get to you really fast :satan: that said, human's team usually always wins :D
(erm, the map is not pathed everywhere due to the path network exceeding the ut limits and thus filling up the log - so i have to simplify a lot - for example bots can not use the rooftops to snipe - oh well )

Cheers

I will be frankly honest FraGnBraG, this doesn't look like one of your usual maps.
Don't get me wrong, the concept is great, the skybox is excellent and the 4th screenshot looks somewhat interesting, but as for the rest of the map... :| Reminds me of something the average mapper would come up with, no offense. Is this another one of your maps which you started years ago and which you are finishing now?

Again, no disrespect intended, is just... I am used to see way better things from you.

I can not competly agree with you Ferali. It looks like the whole complex is rather large, he can not put 10000 polygons into it (node limit, too many polys at the same time, possible bsp bugs you can not get rid of).
He can try to add some simple but big bsp structures here and there or he has to "play" more with good looking textures covering the low amount of actual existing details. But overall it is rather difficult with such large maps.

In terms of "amount of maps", give him some credits. I dont know anybody else around here who has done more maps than him. (I do not count the cube-mappers of course).
It is possible "you" start to get lazy through time and you know with UT1 mapping: "It's nothing to write home about." (how surprising with such age-old game ...)

heh, well considering 90% of the bsp and lighting in this map dates back to 2001-2002 it's not going to compare to my later maps, but that said, I've had a few requests for this one over the years and i managed (this time around) to get the thing "stable" and reasonably playable - so i figure I might as well kick it out fwiw :)

Not to worry, you will be seeing some better things, that's a certainty - Liandri Towers is running pretty good these days :)
