Well, as long as the piramid won't be too simple, I'm for the piramid, otherwise I'll switch to FarCry (paper, your piramid is quite fun).
@tree village: there are a few in ut99 as well but they're not too good. I'd like to see 1 from you Crev :tu:

P.S. Could you explain option 4 please, I didn't get it.

It basically means I only consider a new idea menionted here, if some other users suddently post something like "hey yearh, idea X from user y is a good one. You should really do it."
Even then I have to see if it makes sense, if it is doable and if I like it at all.

Looks like you like Renegades mentioned idea. Some more "likers" and I might consider it. Simple, isnt`t it?

BTW: 9 votes!

I am not asking for help (expect for some scripts in case of the monsterhunt map which did not get any vote so far anyway), neither I need any content for something. I can provide myself with the belongings for the maps very well. At the end I only ASK what they WANT. Is doing a choice too sophisticated for most? This does not take much time or anything. If this can not even get accomplished then I do not have any reason to start the map at all ...
I do not have that much free time as like years ago anymore, like most of us. I am not willing to begin a project which is about to fail before it is even started yet. Such non-existing enthusiasm or interest is highly depressing.

Hey I know its been a while since Ive been active in the unreal community, but luckily I started reading these forums again. And hey Creavion I voted for the pyramid map. I wasn't 100% sure what you meant by saying " not like the tower of babel", I assume you mean a wide / shorter pyramid? Anyways the reason I voted for the jungle pyramid is because there is alot of cool ideas that can be implemented with pyramids, such as magical worlds like the stock DM-Pyramid map etc. And also a floating top to the pyramid like the all seeing eye of horus on the backside of the $1 USD. Also possible to add fascinating map theme story to the map by implementing alien hieroglyphics textures on the inside walls.

Maybe possibly combine these 2 together??

They all sound great. You are cruel making us chose
I feel guilty being the only one voting for the monsterhunt, but I think your description gave my imagination more to work with.

I was imagining it as a StarGate map (so shoot me, I miss it), where you either gate-in or get drop-shipped at the beginning.
Maybe you start with enforcer, minigun & rifle, working through the map finding various Alien/Chaos weapons and runes.
Making your way to the end to be air-lifted or gate-out.
Multi-play with a bit more single-play feel perhaps?

I can imagine each of the zones giving it a very good sense of progression.

Jaffa, cree! *multiple staff blasts hit you*
If you miss SG·1 that badly, there's always this viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3460

That said, I've got a bucketload of SG-1 themed maps, even an MH one with horrid bot-pathing that takes place in the SGC.

I'd be cool if someone (hint hint) made a more engaged Stargate themed map for MH.

Babel tower: http://firingsquad.com/games/serioussam2/images/21.jpg
I like these vines there. I would do something like that. In fact the "pyramid" could look something like this, maybe not with these many levels/floors, but I would take the basic idea of that area in serious sam.
Indeed such a pyramid could have interesting stuff inside, in fact I did not think about that so far. I like your ideas KingJosh.

Flay: No. By this I only want to see in advance who gives a damn about something like that. Really not looking forward to get a nasty surprise at the end. The pyramid map would be deathmatch and/or domination, not single player/monsterhunt.

Was not a bad idea at all to start this thread, since you guys already gave me some new ideas.

Perhaps a big Team Deathmatch map. With separate home pyramids as the base for each team?

Then you could play around with making several types of pyramids, and have fun with the scenery in-between them.
Perhaps something with 2 main pyramids for the Red/Blue team. (Bots & Players) And then 1 or more smaller
pyramids scattered around the map, that have various creature factories in them.

I would very much like a map like that for testing something.

(Yes, I voted for Jungle Pyramid....)

Does your script fully work for this already (Testmap available and/or what happens if such map would get selected within normal DM)? If so, I could consider something like that as well...

That is pretty much the last bit I am still working on with my current project.

It gets sort of twisted, as I am trying to make things work with the existing Epic code, only changing the minimum I need to.
For this type of testing, the only maps I have at the moment are a couple of CTF maps I renamed to be DM maps.
No other maps seem to have PlayerStarts associated with a specific team, and the CTF maps only have 2. (0 and 1, Red and Blue)

The way Epic did the FindPlayerStart function, it basically fails if MaxTeams is greater than the number of playerstarts that have team settings.
i.e. if a map has playerstarts set for teams 0 and 1, and and team 2 or 3 shows up somehow, FindPlayerStart fails and just functions like it would
in regular DM. (And to answer 1 of your questions, that should work fine in reg DM I Think. TDM maps are just DM maps being run via the TDM gametype....)

To answer your other question, I got no testmap available. I got zero mapping skills.
If I could find a testmap, such as I described above.... It might work with my current gametype. I would have to test it to find out.

We're working on releasing Nuclear Race. Players will be racing against each other while flying with Redeemer/SLV/RocketX or another flying mutator).
As you may have seen in the WIP screenshot thread, Madis is already busy with creating some nice maps, but we could use some new racing maps.
