Send me the map and I'll fix it for you. I'm not going to explain how to do it because some mappers try to prevent their map being stolen using this method.

If you really only did hide them (why doing that, I mean we have GROUPS for something like that) as like you said, look in "Search for Actors" (it is that binoculars symbol). If you find Brushes there listed, select one of them and then click on "Actor Properties" (two icons right after the red triangle for 2d shape editor). If done right the properties for the selected brush will get opened. Unhide the brush and then you can select all brushes to unhide the other ones.

BTW: For projects of any sort, I heavily suggest you NOT to overwrite everytime the same file. Specially if it comes to the topic of maps it can save your ass to save everytime with an other number. Like
MyMap_01 as first version
MyMap_02.unr next time...
It is up to you how far you want to go. I can only say: It saved me already a few times in all these years and I never regretted it. With my recent map for example in one version I noted my shadows got nearly killed. Without loading of an older version I could not have saved the map. I could not repair the "broken" shadows. There was no way. Also a software company normally saves their compiled builds/versions as well so they can use an older version, if they have to so for whatever reason.

@ Jack
50/50 chance, good deduction I'd say.
but if you were a noob starting to map, where is the first UT99 site you would join?
Thats right, here, in a troll-free zone, where real work gets done ;)

@Beast
How about some screen-shots of your work? We have a thread for that, and it is a great way to get feed-back.
Anyone who is serious about their work is always welcome here.

@SHADE or a moderator who has the power.
I was over at Unrealplayground yesterday, and notice they have all the UEd icons as smileys.
***WE NEED THIS !!!***
UEd-icons.png
UEd3 icons

Obviously we need UEd2.x but I would also include the icons for 3rd party extra brush-builders.
I know I don't even need to make a poll for this, as now I've seen it, I am wondering why it is not standard on every Unreal site. :???:
Shadow could include any extras from the SDK :tu:

Stop dreaming guys, make something on base of the stuff we have available to use and/or finish it and well yearh, nothing else to do.

No, I will not and most likely no one else will here either. I think you are being less than truthful.

Guys that spend time creating maps then deleting the brushes do it for a reason. Take the time to email the author and ask for an unstripped version and don't forget to credit them for the original work. If you don't want to do that then choose another map to 'work' on.

I will tell you that a fully brush stripped map limits you to about 3 or 4 people here who could actually successfully recover the brush data. None of them will do it, so I'll save you the trouble.

Unless file-size is a concern, I've never understood why mappers choose to delete their brushes.
It prohibits others from learning. So what if someone steals the work? They want to be an inconsiderate ass, let them.
It's like never opening a business because there may be a few thieves in the area. It's absurd. You know YOU made the map, YOU have the talent, that's all that matters.

IMO, the people who matter will know that the work is stolen anyway.

You act as if I'm trying to steal someone else's work. I couldn't care about other maps. I am being truthful. I just wanted help and it seems as if you can't or won't help. Not a great community if i can't get a single answer. If you don't beleive I make maps go to the screen shots and look at the maps i uploaded. Im not stupid or a fraud stop treating me like one. I've been in this game for about 8 years now. And there is one thing i didnt know about the editor and didn't even realize i had brushes selcted and was messing w/ settings that i shouldn't have been messing with. And accidentally hid some of my brushes, So i come here for help and get accused of try to steal or alter somone elses maps? What kind of crap is that?

No ones accusing you. It's called skepticism. It's healthy. You must agree, it is odd for someone to accidentally hide all of the brushes on their map without knowing what they're doing.

i didnt hide "all brushes" i had like three or four brushes selected. then went messing around in the settings while trying to come up with ideas for the map. didnt think anything about making Hidden and hiddened true. i hadnt realized what id done. But i continued messing with settings then changed a corridor in my map and saved it. (Still not realizing that my brushes were gone) Then later went to adjust the room (the few hidden brushes) and the brushes were gone, I thought i deleted them so i reopened my copy and it was gone there as well. So i ended up here. Now noone wants to help me. So i have to redo my map bcuz the few ppl who know how to fix this refuse to help. Why have a site for helping if u wont?

You're new here. The first thing you post is a question about retrieving hidden brushes. Forgive our hesitance to assist you.
I believe you, but, sadly, I don't believe I can help you. Maybe a few of the other guys will change their minds.

So bcuz i dont have Senoirity bcuz i dont usually ask for help hence the fact "im new to a site meant for UT99 questions" i get thrown under the rug and no help is given to me. That some crap. Im done talking, you ppl wont ever help me. Ill just start the map over and never select the settings again, and u guys can keep your secret of how to undo something terrible. I always thought ppl who played UT99 were supposed to have class or some kind of honor between fellow mappers or players. Guess not here. I wont be returning to this place were im looked down upon for asking a simple question. Im pretty dissapointed in this site.
