Well here we go.

And that leaves snow globe.

SnowGlobe7 by GenMoKai
Snow globe was the one that managed to get it all right:
epic assets,
Christmas theme (not just wintry)
competition banner.
A very clever and original adaptation of the Face map.

Well done GenMoKai and thank you for an excellent map.
:)

Congratulations GenMoKai.

Definitely one of the best ever Face re-makes.
Shame EpicTown wasn't very Christmasy (took me a while to find that room) as it is one of the most professional.

Looks like the the most popular maps were the most fun (which is what it is all about).

Looking forward to the final map-pack v2 (hopefully all will have pathnodes for bots and monsters, hint, hint).

erk. I've already deleted them, sorry.

Although most of the entrants were decent, many lost marks as they didn't stay within the competition guidelines.

Thank you all for participating, good to see so many mapping for UT. Thanks for making reviews again, Firefly, it is all appreciated knowing that someone's still looking at the tech. And Congrats GenMoKai, that is one good Faceremake.

I'd like to congratulate the contestants because there was very much an old-school vibe of good sportsmanship with this contest. It felt like the early days there for a bit, there was a lot of positive reinforcement and good banter among everyone. Even though there was an obvious difference in the abilities of the mappers no one was made feel inadequate and I'd dare say everyone worked to their upper ability ranges.

Damn well done everyone. I really mean that too. You all showed what UT was and what it still can be when it's done right. I'm looking forward to the next iteration of the contests. Anyone game?
So long, and thanks for all the fish

I heartily agree with Jack.
It has been nice to see such mixed styles and abilities, with no bitching and finger-pointing.

Some of the maps could do with a little polish and tweak before final release (ie. missing textures and non-looping music).

Indeed, I really enjoyed making my 1st published map with ya all (maybe more like against ya  hee hee...). Mapping with UED really turned into a hobby, a hobby that I hope I won't get rid of for a long long time...
Congrats to all who took part, you're all great mappers!

congrats genMokai :tu: i do wish the floating tree/rock thingies were somehow more solid - i was able to jump over to some them - but - not too much advantage in that move anyways :/

Anyways, i'm okay with the way it wrapped - i would of liked to see some scores, but when you think about it not doing that avoids pissing contests etc - and really when you think about the rules genMokai did ***OBAY*** all of them to maximum amount

Okay I have been busy with other stuff but now will finish the map-pack. (actually there will be two parts, or volumes) I will post the list shortly. Unfortunately, my EpicTownV2 map will not be included, because it one massive IP violation (apparently). If I were to remove (i.e. replace all the textures that I made as a tribute to Epic, I'm not sure even that the effort will fix the situation. Since I don't want to cause problems with download sites etc, I'm just going to withdraw the map altogether. No big deal really - I don't think I'll get *sued* and it's just a frikken ut99 map.

btw, I got nailed for those StarTrek maps also, lol. Better to just stay away from anybody else's IP, eventually they get you - eh?

So if you have the V1 contest map, please do not upload it anywhere. I do not want the V1 in circulation - deleting it would be best. V2 may be released some time, but will have to be a different map with different graphics.

And now, back to work!

Ah.
Did you get some correspondence from someone?

You could always submit the map, for Epic's approval (or try talking to Flak) and see if it can maybe be classified as an official map (or some sort of Epic recommendation).
