Would there be enough interest for such a competition?
It's just for fun ...you can only say "I'm the fastest ... with the most decent map"

No for me, I can't do it!

I'd love to join a newbie mapping contest that can last 3 months for any gametype and learning objectives because I'm a newbie for mapping! This should be great for those who want to learn how to map! Make it like a project so anyone can submit their map as "grades" for following the instruction like some colleges/schools do!

Just passing out some ideas.

I'd be up for it, but my time before christmas is a whirlwind of things-to-be-done, so I doubt I'll be able to participate.

would I join? Maybe, it would depend on the day, game type and if proper bot pathing is required .

I'm not sure if I can make it, but I will see what I can do. No promises.
I think pretty much the same rules apply as last year:

paper has to update us though

Well last time we had a whole month to make the maps, so maybe we could remove the "Epic" rule this time? Please?!

Second that. And a rule that the map has to be original and not an edit/conversion of an existing map. It must be your own.

I agree with you, else you can just re-texture an existing map

And maybe update the 24 hours to 2 or 3 days? Cause some of us have to work

Count me in.
Being a 24h speed mapping, that way I can make a simple quite straightforward map that I am thinking about, nothing too complex (plus probably I will take only an hour at it or so).
But yeah, just let us know if the rules allow custom stuff on it or not... not saying that I will add anything extra, but in case we can it broads the possibilities a bit at least in my case.

I think you missed it. I suggested something. I know what this post is about otherwise. nvm then.
