Hi! My name is José Augusto, and I live here in Brazil (South America). I am 37 years old and in Brazil we speak Portuguese.
When it comes to FPS games here we really like "tactical" games like CS 1.6, CSGO, and a little bit of R6. But here there was a big and strong community of UT'99 and TO. Actually, UT'99 killed Quake3 here in Brazil, and didn't let its community develop. Quake3 wasn't as big here as it was Q1/QW and Q2. Action Quake2 was also big around here.
I got my UT'99 cd-rom from a newsstand of a very popular issue at the time, in 2001, I believe. Perhaps that was the fact of the huge popularity of this game. Anyway, I unfortunately couldn't keep up with the golden temps of this game, because I was very avid in Q2, and I really regret that I wasn't eclectic enough at the time.
But nowadays I love UT'99 a lot, but I admit I'm a bit of a noob. I want to acquire as much information and friendships as possible, and try to rescue a strong community here in Brazil.
Until later!
