Grim Reapers in MH

Lots of monsters in Unreal Tournament are powerful but every so often some crackhead makes one so powerful the only way to take it down is to hit it point blank with a tactical nuke.

That usually works pretty well with most things.

The following edit is mostly for example purposes. I posted a bunch of shots from a display map on a forum and a person there (Fuzzy) wanted to see the thing in action. So, I went through my directory of maps for something ideal and chose MH-Arden. It's got a good mood for this particular beastie.

The GrimReaper is pretty much what you expect from the name. It can fly, it can teleport, and it has a scythe (added benefit is you can use that if you manage to kill the thing). The Reaper has so many powers it's damned freaky, but one of its primary weapons is the Skullhead. It launches one which then can create swarms more... that wander around looking for more players to kill.

MH-Arden has 3 main points: the main gate, the outpost, and the castle at the end. You have to go up the hill to the outpost to flip a switch in there that opens the gate so you can get to the castle. For each of these 3 points there is now a GrimReaper standing guard. The display map had over a hundred GrimReapers, so you would assume that just having to face 3 of the Reapers would be a lot simpler.

Keep thinking that.

Usual suspects:
------------------
.umx goes in /Music
.u goes in /System
.unr goes in /Maps

Have fun, and good luck.

Don't remind me of those (and angels that can nuke you).
I've suffered them enough on Wildcard's Gauntlet Warriors server.

I wonder if these follow path nodes too... if that's so Botz's air nodes might make these able to follow you through high obstacles or from the sky wherever you hide HUAHUAHUAHUAHUAHUA

They're not very well done. It's basically a skull with a trailing something behind and to the side of it. I'm thinking like the flaming skulls from Doom but the flames weren't handled well.

News to me, never been on that server.

Angles that can nuke you? I wanna fight those! Where can I get them?!

Seems kind of a waste to start a new thread just for the mild edit.

I edited MH-Arden into MH-Arden-Grim, but 3 GrimReapers might've been a bit much... no matter how much fun that insanity was. So I opted to remove 2 of the Reapers and replace them with 2 other devestating monsters.

MH-Arden-3some is a little more balanced.

Problem must be on your end, I just downloaded it fresh and the link works fine for me.

No, wait... now I'm getting the same thing.

Okay, I'm confused. I see the error message but in my main directory it's still there and I can still download it.

WTF?!?

Finally got a response, though automatic: The file (MH-Arden-3some.zip) violates the MediaFire Terms of Service. Due to it being distributed from your account, is no longer shareable. Also, a Strike has been placed against your account and can lead to a termination of service.

I've gone over their Terms of Service and haven't found anything I did that violates any of it.

ASLYE702, while I appreciate the share... that has nothing to do with this thread. This one's for the GrimReaper monster, not skins made into monsters.

Thanks though.

So far as I know, the Reaper was never a model/skin for players to use.

As stated in PM, where I wish this would have remained, your monster male soldier, according to your pic there, can't be used without whatever that Weaponholder thing is. I know I don't have it.

If you wanna talk on this further, let's keep it to the PM area because that's not what this thread is about.

it was fun to watch.
They were mostly laughing at each other getting splattered all over the screen.

Because the old HoF forum is still there, even if it's not active anymore, thought I'd share responses to this map from the Fools that played it.
