I'm not going to quote from my PM's, but I can asure you all that Shade will not take this site Down. He wants to continue this project he started. I'm not trying to speak on behalf of him, but I fear that because of his absence this topic may lead to people fearing of a closure - it's not going to happen.

Bless you Carbon. You never stop contributing.
Always helpful and full of encouragement. Do not underestimate the value you have.

Actually it would be good to review this subject every few months.
From this summer onwards Shade will not have to pay for a regular site certificate (EV certs will still cost), so we know of 1 cost saving that will be available.

Thanks Flay...kind words indeed.

Yes, I hope that any costs that need attention could be mentioned here as they arise.

Hello :)

Last year (13 months ago), about 120 Euro were donated by the community.

These are the current costs:
- 17,21 € per year for the domain.
- 14,28 € per year for the SSL certificate.
- 114,24 € per year for the hosting.
Thats 145,73 € per year in total. (Weird prices, I know. It's inclusive the VAT.)

90% of the disk space of the hosting service is reserved for ut99.org due the many file uploads.
I have other domains without content parking on the hosting service too, and I use it for little private projects sometimes.
That's why I define the costs for UT99.org at around 120 € pear year / 10 € per month.

The donations of last year are used up. As a student I am still happy and thankful for every donation. :)

@Dr.Flay "From this summer onwards Shade will not have to pay for a regular site certificate (EV certs will still cost), so we know of 1 cost saving that will be available."
I don't understand what do you mean. "regular site certificate"?

Hoping that this little post will bring this topic to the attention of our community!

Shade is still hosting guys and still paying real money (and time) for us to get together here.

We can help him out a bit by donating what we can...even 5 Euros. The yearly cost target - just costs - can easily be met by the members here giving even a little.

So, if you can spare the cost of a fast food meal, send it in and get your name in a lovely color and help UT99.org remain the best place for UT on the net!!!
