I should have pointed out this earlier as well, but the only thing which actually kinda stirs me up in this map are the seams in the skybox, they kinda ruin the overall atmosphere of the map.
If you manage to fix them, coupled with the new lighting, the map will be even better than what it originally was.

Oops, sorry for the double post (merge?) but it certainly useful.
Here's a v2 of the retouch, with some minor edits
also found a little few bugs with my own retouch.
The colours aren't drawed right on certain surfaces. You might wanna tweak the lights and or the textures.
As shown in the picture:
- Added some moving brushes --- floating -- in the VOID / space
- And added' fireflies ' to make that opening into the Void even more kicking ass.
You should easily learn this, not advanced stuff, if it is let me know.
Have a look in this map, in the editor -- and TOY with the settings. Play, tweak and have fun with these settings.
Experiment a lot with size , speed and different lights.
The reason I added my surprise is was this hitted my thoughts :

Remember : You must check the map stability - and lighten up the map in some places!
