For another reason I had a look at the code for DynamicAmbientSound - the variable soundPlaying is only defined there but not used anywhere in the code and by this without effect?

Usually if something like that is disturbing my state, I'm writing another actor - for fixing a map or for patching original one. If it's something common like "Counter" definitely a common mutator/actor might solve problem...
