Player for .uax files?
Player for .uax files?
I used Xmplay for UMX-files for years and works fine but Is there a player that can play .uax files?

Re: Play .uax files?
Isn't there a plug-in for VLC player?
I have to look into it.
Edit----------------
Forget it, I misread the thread .umx files are the one which can be played in tracker.
Re: Play .uax files?
You can listen to UMX files in your browser. There is an online package explorer which also lets you listen to UMX. Visit https://bunnytrack.net/package-explorer/ then drag and drop your UMX file in it. Wait a bit and click on the Music tab and click play.
Re: Play .uax files?
That's odd. I don't remember ever adding any plugins to VLC. And I can't see anything in my plugin list which mentions UMX or Unreal (or Tracker). Is it a matter of associating the file type with the application, or is it just refusing to function with UMX files at all?

Can it be that an older version worked?ShaiHulud wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 10:40 pm That's odd. I don't remember ever adding any plugins to VLC. Re: Play .uax files?
It's possible, I'm running release 3.0.18, and it's been nagging me to update from time-to-time, but I think this is only the current version - 1.
Re: Play .uax files?
Try the program "Audacity" and import Raw data.
I just did it, not sure of the import settings it will distort or add pink noise or mostly work or sections will work with noise inbetween, well it does import them I tried .ogg from ut2004 as well.
You guys know more about all these audio formats than me so you might be able to make it work.

Re: Play .uax files?
Because UMX can contain more than WAVE format - is there a download link for the file in question that one can investigate it?

Re: Play .uax files?
No one special, was just wondering if there is an easier way to listen to the sound-files then to import them to the editor.
Re: Player for .uax files?
I think y'all are confusing UMX with UAX files.Re: Player for .UAX files?
UMX are basically individual stand alone music files.
UAX are basically for sound effects and may contain more than one sound effect in each file.
VLC will play UMX files, not UAX.
Yeah it would be nice if you could just click on a UAX file and hear its contents, but I've never seen a player that can do that.

Because in the same first post from OP umx and uax got mentioned.
Re: Player for .uax files?
Same here, and honestly, I didn't even know VLC could play UMX files until OjitroC mentioned it in a post a couple of months ago. All this time!papercoffee wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 12:35 am That's what got me confused.
