@Que True. All versions of NewNet has this issue. I have dropped my own version of NewNet from my servers till some way to found as it require so many player classes to prepare for NewNet login handler.

Imma need a WHOLE lot more voicepacks for these  need to get off my lazy ass and make some tbh LOL

Was a bit sceptical on these but surprised I don't need to overwrite any default files, though I think I'll remove the base packages' .int file just to slightly trim the model list :lol2:

An interesting side-effect of the ELD_Char_BasePack (presumably) and how everything has been set up (in the int files or in the packages) is that all the default UT models (that's the Botpack models, not the models in the various ELD packages) are now animated in the same way that the ELD models are.

Using the ELD_PlayerUI, I looked at Female Commando 2k4 expecting to see the new Female Commandos 2k4 from the Base Pack. What I got was all my Female Commando skins and all were animated, playing the Dances/Poses. So I picked one I sometimes use and went on to play a map.

The poses and dances did not work directly from the Voice Menu in that, with the ELD characters, the view immediately switches to a behind view of the model doing a dance or a pose. However if I switched to behindview via the console and then opened the Voice Menu and hit one of the poses or dances, my model went through the appropriate moves.

In the ELD_PlayerUI, the ELD 2k4 Female Commando model and skins actually appear as Commando in the Female Commando 2k4 category and it is presumably the same for the Male Commando, Soldier etc.

Surprised no one has noticed this before (or at least commented on it). No idea if this was intended?

The downside (and for me there is a downside) is that MatrixMoves no longer works with the default UT (Botpack) models though it does work for other custom models for which there is a plugin. Of course, the unanimated default UT Female Commando appears under Female Commando and so this can be used to get MatrixMoves.

It looks like the classes of the default UT Player/Bot models are replaced by the relevant ELD classes - the log said this about my player "Log: URL: Adding default option Class=ELD_Char_BasePack.pDD_UTFCommando"

@OjitroC There characters will not work with mods which modify the UT player class. I have checked, MatrixMoves does change the player class.
Also default UT Player models are not replaced, these are still in the list and if you choose they will work as normal. ELD Base characters are additional in list and they have the dance/pose animations.
For example Female Commando & Female Commando 2k4 both are in list, both use same skins. Female Commando is the default UT model while Female Commando 2k4 is new ELD model.

Is it possible that you maybe woulde release the source file of the animated rig in original 3d package file (Blender/Maya) whatever it was made in?
I would like to make a rig with the exact same movement animation as the default vertex animated ones. Some people dont like the bouncy walk cycle of PS2/skeletalchars and 2k4.

Offcourse all credit would go to you.

You can open/import psk, psa files in blender, and change/add the animations. Then export them back. It is not necessary to save as blend file (source file)

[OT] Please can I ask that you don't resubmit the same packs to UnrealArchive every day.

They require manual review and sometimes it takes me a few days to get to them. Submitting the same things daily just makes that process take even longer.

You can see the outstanding items here if you want to make sure your thing was submitted: https://github.com/unreal-archive/unrea ... data/pulls

You know, when you upload your models to Unreal Archive if you put screenshots of the models in your .zip they show up in the file.

Examples:

Yours - https://unrealarchive.org/models/unreal ... 50ef4.html

Mine - https://unrealarchive.org/skins/unreal- ... dc45f.html

It's good for those seeing your entries there to be able to see what they will be downloading.

can you tell me if your rig is the same as the UT2004 default rig ? you just added your animations/dances to it? did you manually add them or something?

Character: Black Fang (From game Lost Ark)

This model was used as decoration in some maps on EL Dorado Servers as there was no animation.

Instead of rigging the model with UT2004 animations, I made new animations. Whole process took approx. 6 months.

Answer is already in the readme files of character packs. Just to add, I m working on animations for many years, not only for UT99 but for many other games.
