Now it's time for CTF:

That's an almost finished red flag room. I can't decide whether to leave the floors whit mirror effect, or just make them dark old and boring...

Well, it looks a bit squared and very simple for me, looking to other maps from you, Myth. But that's just my viewpoint...I'm a perfectionist. :|

The white-lighting is final?

lol. Right...However, I've seen a lot of low-poly maps that had nice eye-candy touches. :P

It is possible to make also nice maps with a lowER polycount. But then you need really good textures to fake the "missing" polygons.

Thanks for the feedback. That white-ish light is kinda final. I'm currently trying to kill some BSP holes.
Well, this is the red main room. I've modified the flags from TrenchesFX and DDayFX, it looks sexier. You can see the blue one far in the background. The map is somewhat based of Terraniux. The music is an enhanced version of K_Vision. But I have a hard time finding a proper name for it.

How you managed to tear up your BSP structure with that few polys is beyond me.

Looks nice, again. But yet too simple for me, based on other maps I've seen from you.

Thought I'll contribute.

Based on h0ok's CTF-Ultra from the UT3 HOLP pack. I really liked this map in the UT3 HOLP pack and I drew inspiration from if for a SLV map. However, I liked the map that much that I decided to port it over to UT99. I asked hook for his permission and started working on it. However, progress has been slow and this map has been sitting on my HDD untouched for almost 3 months.

Scale is more or less the same as the UT3 counterpart, but there are quite a few differences in the architecture and slight changes in the floorplan. I'm also making some extra space for SLV, since that's the gametype/mutator I usually focus my mapping on.

edit: removed image tags, just in case they stretch the forum page too much.

Another one, a SLV map, CTF-Enigma

It's generally SLV oriented, but I'm kind of experimenting with a double-layered floor plan that might have some playability with regular weapons. It's in a quite early stage of development and I cant decide whether I should completely retexture it or not. Not that many details put into it either yet, missing obvious things like trims, etc.

Looks interesting. We had a lack of (really good) CTF maps in the recent released mappack.

Interesting =/= good. We'll know once it's done, though.

Mirror effect, Myth. I loved that in DM-Lestat's Castle and some other maps (DM-Wizard, etc.) :)

That HOLP adaption looks good.
I'm keeping mirror on flag rooms and corridors leading to flag rooms. It should be ready this week, already started testing.
