Differences between male & female skinning on the soldier models

Post by EvilGrins »

Recently made a Starfleet skin, decided to make it for both genders. Basically using the same textures for both with slight alterations.

Male Soldier (left) Female Soldier (right):

All textures for both are 256x256, but the female textures don't fill all of that like the male ones do. Female on 256x256 for the #1 texture are 252x251.

But for the #2 texture...

...female fills only 256x239.

You cannot simply use the same textures for both as things don't line up the same on both models.

The #3 texture (shoulders & upper arms) more or less does line up the same.

#4 texture is a little odd, as it makes room for the ponytail on the lower left side.

Just goes to show, even in UT, there are immutable differences between men and women.

Indeed, it's not just about who has the prettiest gun.
