The script only scales down the domination icons, not the whole HUD ^^editor Dave wrote:Thanks for your support but I already got a script which scales down the HUD so one doesn't need to do it manually. And it works perfectly.

Re: Collab Mapping #01 - PHASE 3
Just a suggestion to speed up development time next time you guys do this; avoid the "i'm waiting for x to finish his part, give it to y, and then waiting for y to give it to me" thing.
Heres how; everyone announces how many exits/connectors their room will have, and the size of those connectors. For example, someone announces that they are making a room which has three connectors: one 512x512, one 512x128 and one 1024x128.
Once that announcement is made everyone knows what size connector they have to use in order to connect to that room, and they can announce/start developing their room before the first room is even finished.
Using this method, everyone can be working on the level simultaneously. All the different rooms can be tied together later, or progressively.
I don't know how it'd work out, but it's something to consider for next time. I'd hope that instead of the whole thing dragging on and on because you have to go person by person, everyone can be working on it at once and you get to this stage of finalization and polish much faster

Re: Collab Mapping #01 - PHASE 3
But the problem was not the "i'm waiting for x to finish his part, give it to y, and then waiting for y to give it to me" thing, since after 2 months 80 % of the map was finished. Then nearly anbody had the motivition or the time to build another room as most people had contributed at least one already.
Generally, that's a good idea if we ever start another Community project. However, I think Renegade has also some ideas in mind and I believe one of them is building a floorplan first and afterwards the other members add the details. That would be even better than your solution
Apropos, Renegade - are still cooking the gameplay ?

Re: Collab Mapping #01 - PHASE 3
This is almost how it was done.
problem ensues, when no guy is assigned to a task.
For instance, i don't know what is happening right now. The idea was that somebody finishes some botpahing and troubleshooting. We talked a little bit about how it should be done, theoreticaly most of the time, but nothing much more in practice.
As far as i know Renegade claimed that he would do some stuff around botpathing, but his last entry was made 30th of August.
Since then, i guess, everybody is waiting for something to happen.
Also, I think that's why i think reporting the progress is important. That informs the others about the state of the task, and also keeps motivated all the participants.
Though the map is almost ready to release, i can see enthusiasm decreased quite a bit around the project.
((and, btw, due to some irl stuff i have very little time to help))

Yeah, that's a good suggestion. So, FragnBrag, would you be interested in doing the item placement?

Re: Collab Mapping #01 - PHASE 3
Don't be such a pessimist Someone just needs to wack down some paths and items and the map is pretty much playable. Sure there's more to it than that but still, this project is so close to the finish line. It would suck for it to just bomb out now

Re: Collab Mapping #01 - PHASE 3
Why does everybody say "someone" could do it? I told several times that everybody may finish the map as long as the result is better than the previous version. Why don't YOU (SzGergo, TheIronKnuckle) put an end to this if you want to see this finished?
