best thing you could do .. and tbh I doubt you can get into many Protected ? servers with your current install is make a backup of it .. copy paste.

ok .. looked through .logs and you seem to be one of those 1 in a 100 players that just timeout.

I think it could be firewall related .. where your firewall is blocking ace from communicating with the server, this in effect will cause you to be disconnected.

anything from here look familiar papercoffee?

i saw some players having issues due to antivirus, antispyware software blocking the dlls ace checks. did you try to turn such software off or exclude the utsystemfolder for realtime scans of the software?

This is not a security problem. The only security application that doesn't like ACE is Comodo internet security (which blocks the installation/loading unless you whitelist UnrealTournament.exe). The timeouts happen because of short packetloss/congestion bursts and either the client or the server failing to deal with them. v0.9 will have a new feedback system that will hopefully have less problems dealing with connection issues.

so again I suspect your firewall perhaps the problem.. try whitelisting the unrealtournament folder's

it could have been NexGen causing the problems I noticed that you last tried accessing the server on the 21st April.
I have since removed this NexGen .. Are you able to connect atm?

we use.. 8h which is pretty stock. (these days)

also .. try the other server in my sig which has the latest version of newnet installed

In the meantime did I join an France server with NW3 + ACE 8h beta ...no problem, it took long for ACE to check my system but I could play there.

Nothing happened ... this time for more then 3 minutes appeared nothing not even a "connection failed"

So we have narrowed it down.. also try other server as I have extended the timeout.. now Iam not sure how it will feel for you as your ping was around 500ms.. however normally on join in ace servers pings are high then even out after authentication
