Re: some of the skins I've made/edited
Actually, no. I made Hook's skin originally without team colors then made a variant of it for myself, which is in that screenshot. The one with the smiley team color on back is mine... and I suppose medor can have it.papercoffee wrote:It's Hook's private clan skin ...you have to ask him for permission.medor wrote:What is this name and where i can download it
Attached. May make a more detailed post for this later.

Re: some of the skins I've made/edited
Finished up another skin for Dragon's server last night; build time about 1 hour, think time a couple weeks.
I give you the Dragon Ninja:
Full team colors:
Combined an edited version of the ReptalSoldier with the BloodKnight, placing Dragon's symbol on the belt buckle (didn't think it'd be that big on the skin) and the shoulders.

Re: some of the skins I've made/edited
I do a lot of Bizarro skins, which is a DC Comics reference if you're not familiar with it. I did a Bizarro Lantern a stretch back, which originally looked much like my other Lantern skins, then I got the flu and in a fever redesigned it to something horrid, and then just recently finished it to this:
This is the flu-version:
Some of the previous Lantern-themed skins I did:

Re: some of the skins I've made/edited
I'm not a huge fan of DC Comics' New52 but I've a weak spot for Bizarros which is what prompted this:
Been turning this over in my head a couple months, only thing was actually getting around to doing it... which was last night.
Only took about 30 minutes to slap this together:
Skin isn't done, as this particular Bizarro has a bald/shaved head on his right side. Bald is trickier than you might think on a skin, if you want it to look halfway decent.
What the character looks like · http://tinyurl.com/kn7c5t2
All of my Bizarro skins:
Bizarros usually have unusual team colors. That purple 1 on the left's team colors are just his boots.

Re: some of the skins I've made/edited
The internet is made for Gorn!
*ahem*
A stretch back, geek that I am, I found a umod on some REALLY old UT site for original series Stark Trek skins... and it's largely been collecting dust on my harddrive for awhile. This past weekend I dug into them to check them out:
Basicaly they're decent skins, but very pale. A little too pale, they look like they were exposed to brighter light, or there a fog between you sorta thing. The old problem that certain parts of certain models aren't subject to team colors work against them something fierce too:
Yeah, they've got decent faces. Some are clearly photos molded over onto the skins, which works okay sometimes but mostly not.
Chekov's looks psychotic!
To give an example of contrast, 1 skin the set has is the Gorn (slap yourself if you don't know what that is).
I took the original and enhanced it:
Then I started playing around with it and other things:
The pieces for the Klingon skin are not from this set. I'm a geek, I've had Klingon skins awhile too.
Long story short, I now have Gorn running around my games:
Not done playing around with these yet, working up other skins into a Gorn skinset (4 so far).
Got a basic talk texture done too:

Re: some of the skins I've made/edited
There's more than 1 version of the Bizarro Batman. This is a shot of a 2nd type:
Also kind of explains an issue I've been having with belts. That ½ a belt buckle is supposed to have both sides. No idea why it cuts off like that, it's like when the waist of the texture wraps around the Male Soldier it partially folds over itself.

Just bad UV-maping from the developer of this model.
But you could know this already when you would use the Skin-Maker and its wireframe BMPs.

Except that I don't use Skin-Maker, gave it a shot once and didn't much like it.papercoffee wrote:when you would use the Skin-Maker and its wireframe BMPs.
I do okay without it, minus the occasional weirdness:
Spider-Gorn, Spider-Gorn, Does whatever a Spider-Gorn does...

Then just use the wireframe bmp to get how the texture is wrapped GOD-DAMMIT!!!!
Put it on a layer over the actual texture ...then you will see where the texture is cut and doesn't show up on the model.
Ok ...and now look closely at your newest skin ...I do okay without it, minus the occasional weirdness:Spoiler
Spider-Gorn, Spider-Gorn, Does whatever a Spider-Gorn does...

Re: some of the skins I've made/edited
Where does one get the wireframe bmp? I do my skins by "painting" on the actual texture files, in png format; I've never seen a wireframe in there.papercoffee wrote:Then just use the wireframe bmp to get how the texture is wrapped GOD-DAMMIT!!!!
